he old castle “The Pressoir–Bachelier" is located at the gateway to the areas of Poitou and Anjou, a stone’s throw away from the Loire Castles and close to the coastline of Vendée. The current manor house is an old and charming private residence, vestige of an impressive medieval castle that was partially destroyed during the 16th century. The manor has been classified as a historical monument.
The Pressoir is set in a very picturesque environment, in the heart of the countryside. It borders onto a protected valley that constitutes a remarkable biotope, sheltering an exceptional fauna and flora and criss-crossed by a number of walking paths, perfect for a variety of scenic promenades.
